Fall semster do's and dont's

Maybe you’re too cool for nerves, but most students get anxious about the new school year and worry that they might fall behind too quickly (I know I have). But do not fret! These Dos and Don'ts will do more than just provide you with the tools that are absolutely 100 percent necessary to merely hit the mark this semester, but you will also develop wonderful habits that you may even carry with you to college.

“Do” number one: Buy the nicest supplies on the market.

You don’t want to be the only person in your class without the reliable and reasonably priced Mildliner highlighters, do you? The Five Star notebooks will serve you much better than those 90 cent off-brand notebooks that virtually serve the same purpose (but the tiny triangles on the side obviously make it easier to organize your notes).

“Don’t” number one: Buy a planner.

Buying a planner is simply a waste of good, hard earned money. Writing down every important event or assignment will not do much for you in the long run. If you don’t remember to look at the planner, then it is just a waste of space. Writing on your hand is much more time-, space- and cost-effective. Plus, if you wash your hands and end up washing away your note for an assignment, so go your worries, too! If you don’t have it written down, you might as well just not have an assignment.

“Do” number two: Wait to do your homework.

Using only the best highlighters for AP US History annotations

I’m pretty sure almost all of us teenagers would agree that we are night owls. I often find myself waiting until pretty late at night to start my homework, and it all pays off! I am doing perfectly fine with my less than mediocre GPA and I am totally not stressed at all. I am 100 percent calm and never worry about my grades.

“Don’t” number two: Go to social events.

How you start off the school year is just as important for how the rest of the year goes. If you waste your evenings or weekends going out with your friends and making memories that you might carry with you for the rest of your life, what good is it if you don’t get to stay at home and worry over waiting to do your homework? Wouldn’t you much rather do nothing but stay at home and scroll on your phone for hours on end? Frankly, I would take doing absolutely nothing on a Friday night over going to a Crespi home game with my friends.

I hope these absolutely wonderful and helpful tips serve you right throughout the school year, especially for you freshmen (you have to learn good habits early). Make sure to take these pieces of advice and anecdotes very seriously, as no one else will be this brutally honest with you. Happy schooling!
