The annual Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show was an amazing and successful day for families to connect and support the amazing seniors. The beautiful event was held at the Skirball Cultural Center for the first time since 2020.. The event is a much-loved tradition at Louisville to celebrate the graduating seniors and Louisville families.

Fashion show coordinators Suzanne Von Shaack and Jennifer Willets worked hard and dedicated themselves to choreographing the show and teaching those participating to strut their stuff! Jenny Bobillo ’22 was the emcee of the fashion show and did an amazing job introducing each scene and making the performance extra special.

The first scene was “Spring on the Senior Lawn” and seniors modeled spring clothes like dresses and blouses strutting down the runway as the audience erupted in applause.

Then, the next scene was “Blue Sharks in Action” showcasing senior couples as they modeled more spring looks on the runway. The scene featured Elle Negri and she walked down the runway with her boyfriend Tyler Morris ’22 “My favorite memory from the fashion show was to see all of the dads laughing and joking to cheer us up backstage” said Elle Negri ’22.

The next scene, “Memories on Mulholland” was definitely emotional as the senior girls dressed in glamorous prom dresses and walked down the runway escorted by their fathers. “I loved getting the experience with my friends and my dad. I have been going to the fashion show since I was in eighth grade and it was surreal that it was my turn to be in the show,” said Genevieve Kloch ’22, one of the seniors in the scene.

For the grand finale of the fashion show, the final scene’s theme was “Bon Voyage, Louis” which featured more father-daughter duos as they modeled college-wear and had their suitcases and backpacks, ready for college.

“My favorite moment from the fashion show was walking down at the end of the show with all of the seniors because it was very memorable and sentimental,” said Jules Henderson who modeled in this scene.

Outside of the center, vendors like fan-favorite Nathalie B Designs sold beautiful handmade jewelry while others sold decorative plates, clothing, as well as home and garden decor. More vendors were featured indoors such as The Treasured Accessory, selling stunning delicate jewelry and E Dupuy Studios, where the talented Mrs. Dupuy sold her handmade ceramics, broaches, purses and more.

When entering the center, each class had their own silent auction tables decorated according to their class themes. The freshman table’s theme was “Beach It: From Sun-Up to Sundown” and it was filled with beach themed items to bid on like umbrellas, beach towels, chairs, coolers and more.

The sophomore table’s theme was “Backyard Fun” featuring items like an outdoor table tennis set, popcorn machines and barbecue grilling tools.

The junior class table was decorated with miniature purple dragons and lanterns to fit with their class colors and mascot, the purple dragon. Along with their table’s theme “Dream Big,” some of the items up for bidding were candles, cookbooks and a picnic basket.

Finally, the senior table was decked out with shark cutouts, with their theme being “College Bound,” which featured some of the must-have college essentials like bed sheets, a mini fridge, an air fryer and a Keurig coffee maker!

The tables were all beautifully decorated and filled with many sought after items which received very high bids from parents and students. Many eager mothers and daughters bought raffle tickets for the Tory Burch Canvas Tote Bag and Stella McCartney Shoulder Bag, but the lucky winner of both of the bags was Sheila Derrig, Grandmother to Sophia Derrig-Palumbo ’23.

After shopping and bidding on items, families were then invited to have lunch together in the beautifully decorated Guerin Pavilion before the fashion show began. The tables were decorated with gorgeous flower arrangements and each table setting had a sprig of lavender and our very own lavender seeds to plant at home.

The food was delicious as the menu featured an entree of roasted vegetable salad, main course of sauteed chicken with a side of vegetables and the dessert was a trio plate with a zesty lemon bar, mini truffle brownie and a chocolate covered strawberry.

Overall, the fashion show was a huge success in showcasing the beautiful seniors and commemorating their time at Louisville. The Spring Luncheon and Fashion show is a beloved event for families and friends to come together to celebrate the seniors and all they have accomplished over the years at Louisville. Thank you to the Parents Guild, Advancement Team and student volunteers for making this special event possible and such a memorable day for families and students.
