Although the weather made it seem like it was summer, you could feel the spirit of Halloween in the air. On Friday, October 29 at approximately 2 p.m., many Louisville students and staff went to park their cars in parallel lines in front of St. Louis Hall; it was finally time to set up for the event famously known as Trunk or Treat. Teachers and students alike fully committed themselves to this event.

Upon request, Mr. Shaikh shared a fun Halloween joke:

"A skeleton says to another skeleton, I'm like your vertebrae because I got your back!"

Everyone started to pull out boxes and bags of Halloween candy and began preparing their cars for all the little kids who were full of excitement and in need of a sugar rush. Students began decorating and designing; some using traditional decorations like spider webs and skeletons, and others with unique themes that did not require the usual “spooky decor”.

The goal for Elyse Morneau ’23 and Yzabella Gigantone ’23 “was kind of a Disney theme since we both knew we would dress up as Disney characters, so we got a little haunted mansion and that became our theme!”

Among the untraditional Halloween trunks, there was a Harry Potter theme, a Cookie Monster theme, a jungle theme and some fall themed cars. Alex Pembrook ’23 had a vintage turntable and vinyls displayed within her trunk!

This year there was a record amount of trunks available for the little children to trick or treat from and the creativity of the designs were very impressive. By 3 p.m., dressed up kids were able to walk through the car lines and collect all their long awaited Halloween sweets. There was a relatively big turn out and the long line of cars allowed seemingly endless fun for the young kids.

A fun Friday for the children and an imaginative opportunity for the Louisville students, this Halloween celebration was a wholesome activity for all involved.
