On Friday, September 24, Louisville hosted the annual Mother Daughter Boutique and Picnic.
The event started with the Louisville girls meeting up with their mothers and eating on any lawn on campus. This gave the mothers and daughters the option to either eat just the two of them, or have the mothers meet their daughter’s friends.
Louisville offered a boxed lunch for mothers and daughters who pre-ordered. This lunch provided a turkey or chicken pesto sandwich along with fruit, chips and a cookie. However, many mothers brought different foods varying from sushi to pizza, and donuts to Starbucks.
Following lunch, there were several different booths set up around the senior lawn, which made up the boutique. Many different items were sold, ranging from jewelry and vintage clothing, to water bottles and bed sheets!
The most popular booth was the Louisville Spirit Store, where Louisville swag was sold which included jackets, plaid pants, T-shirts, beanies and pajama shorts. A big hit were the two Louisville jackets, one in navy blue and one in grey. I personally bought the grey jacket with the fleece lining.
The Mother Daughter Boutique and Picnic gives the Louisville girls and their mothers the time to step away from their busy schedules to spend time together and have fun.
“It was a lovely event as I was grateful to be able to shop and bond with my daughter,” said Dareth Amari, mother of Tatem Adessi ’23.
Due to having school online last year, both the freshmen and the sophomores have never experienced the Mother Daughter Boutique and Picnic, so this year two classes are able to participate for the first time!
“I really enjoyed the Mother Daughter Boutique. I thought the event was a lot of fun; I had a great time eating lunch with my mom, introducing my mom to new friends and shopping with her,” said Mary Piscatella ’24.
Despite the event being a little different than it was in the past, the Mother Daughter Boutique and Picnic was an amazing and lively success!
