Ranking Harry Styles fanfiction by a dedicated Harry lover

Harry Styles, a beloved man, has won hearts and minds of the world, our Louisville campus and of course our Royal Staff. So much so that fans have written and read fanfiction in which Harry Styles stars as the main character. In this article, I will be ranking some of the more popular and well known fan fiction and giving my general opinions on each of them. Note that this article may contain some spoilers.  

To start, the highest ranked in my opinion, and by far my all time favorite story on Wattpad, an app for writers that is also home to fanfiction, is “Stall” written by Wattpad user @mysterymixtapes.  The premise of this story is that Harry Styles, who grew up in an abusive environment, is an affiliated gang member and club owner. Through this club, he meets Abby inside a bathroom stall, who has a controlling and toxic boyfriend. The audience can see the growth of both Harry and Abby in their relationship as they learn to trust and love one another, overcoming all the murderous adventures that come their way.

 Abby’s boyfriend tries to ruin her chances to become a photographer and threatens her safety, until Harry steps in. An interesting twist to the story is when it is later discovered that   Abby’s boyfriend’s father was the same man who abused Harry and his friends during their childhood. Harry and his friends’ revengeful nature start a sort of war between his ex-abusers, causing lives to be hurt and kidnappings to occur. 

This story has over 65.5 million reads and takes around one day and six hours to read. Fans loved it so much that the author wrote a sequel “Stall 2.” I highly recommend this story to all Harry Styles lovers, as the romance and drama in it is at an all time high. 

The second ranked Harry Styles fanfiction that shocked the lives of fans worldwide is “Duplicity.” This story follows Harry Styles in the mafia with his fellow gang members Liam, Louis and Niall. Each boy has a talent that contributes to the great heists they pull off for the mafia leader. Harry Styles can tell when people are lying through their eyes, Liam is a tech genius, Niall pickpockets and Louis is the unofficial doctor.

 You may be shocked to find out that the four boys are also in the world renowned band “Duplicity”— which helps in their alibis for all the crimes they commit. In the story, Harry Styles meets Aven, a young photographer, saving up money to go to NYU. However, over the progression of the story, they grow to hate one another until they inevitably fall in love. But not everything is what it seems: did they meet by coincidence? Or was it planned? Is Harry Styles who he seems? Who is the mafia leader? 

All these questions can be answered in “Duplicity,” which now has a sequel titled “Complicity.” This story has fans tattooing quotes, buying cherry flavored lollipops and painting nails yellow and black. If you want to become deeply invested in any Harry Styles fanfic this is the one.  

Lastly, the fanfiction “Wedlock” written by @onlytpwk is a newer story which follows  Harry Styles as the CEO of his company, “Pleasing,” who drunkenly gets married to Edora in Vegas. However, it turns out she is the nanny at his kids’ daycare, where she ridiculed him for being an unfit father. This causes Harry to retaliate— denying a mutual divorce and lawyering up. Due to Edora’s financial situation, she cannot afford to divorce Harry just yet (if it were me I would never divorce him). So, they stayed unhappily married, Harry eventually gets her fired from her job, which he then later feels bad for and offers her a job as his kids (from a previous marriage) personal babysitter. They grow close and Edora ends up pregnant with his child!

 Is Harry ready for another kid or does this drive them farther apart? Their relationship is on and off as they see other people and begin to argue more, the relationship that was once mended has broken. What will happen to Edora and her child? Why is Harry Styles afraid of having another child?
