On October 5th, one of Louisville’s most long awaited events, the pep rally, was held in St. Louis Hall. The senior dragons, junior dinosaurs, sophomore giraffes, and freshmen jellyfish were hyped up and ready to go during our first pep rally of the year. The pep rally was energized by spirit and enthusiasm. Excitement spread over the Hall as soon as it began.
Tennis, volleyball, golf, and mock trial teams as well as the members of the fall drama were presented at the pep rally and thanked for their commitment and effort. As the athletes and players walked forward to be recognized with their teams, each class applauded them.
At the beginning of the pep rally, the seniors put on a fantastic performance for the school. They ran into St. Louis Hall and performed a synchronized dance which included different sections and song changes.
“It was really fun and practicing the dance was fun and I feel like our class really got our
own moment to shine,” said Sasha Austria ’23.
Senior Dance before Pep Rally
During the pep rally, three games were played between the four grade levels: the three legged race, finish that lyric and hungry hungry hippo. Everyone wondered if the seniors would win again, or if the freshman, sophomores and juniors could redeem themselves.
Senior vs Juniors in the three-legged race
The freshmen and sophomores went up first to play the three legged race, and the sophomores beat the freshmen in a tense battle. Afterwards, the senior and juniors class competed, and the seniors dominated the juniors. The seniors then entered the final round and won by a close margin against the sophomores. The freshman surprised everyone by winning finish that lyric against the seniors. Finally, the juniors were able to redeem themselves with the last game, hungry hungry hippo.
“I thought the games were really fun and I think it was even better than last year’s pep
rally,” said Gina Kim ’25.
The pep rally was a great success altogether, and each class enjoyed showing off their school spirit. Thank you to ASB for putting together a fun and interactive pep rally!
