Louisville's annual Gala commenced on Saturday, November 20, 2021. It was a night full of music, chatting and fundraising! The theme was 80s and everyone rocked their best 80s outfits!
The check in began around 5 p.m. and ended at 7 p.m. The first portion of the night was the silent auction which occured online.
At the beginning of the night, once guests checked in, they were able to walk through the old classrooms, as well as the newly renovated English Wing. By doing so, they could see exactly what the money they bid would go towards; brand new innovative classroom furniture!
The outdoor portion of the gala was decorated beautifully with lights and there were various activities. There was a spectacular photo booth, as well as cocktails and a silent auction.
In addition, there were two retro cars, including the DeLorean from Back to the Future and the Ghostbusters’ cars which decorated the lot!
Guests were able to mingle, while Louisville student volunteers walked around selling different game tokens. Finally, there was an auctioneer present who introduced and announced the biddings throughout the night.
After the mingling portion of the night, there was dinner. Catering was served to the guests as well as a dessert bar full of goodies! Guests were able to socialize at their tables and enjoy their food.
The highlight of the night was the live auction. The auctioneer presented the guests with different prizes and everyone bid for their favorites. Competition filled the Louisville hall as everyone was hopeful to get their desired prizes.
Once the auction was over, there was live entertainment! The Action Figures band gave a special 80s themed performance. The Action Figures are a spin-off of Band from TV and feature celebrities from major TV shows and movies.

“I really enjoyed how in the beginning of the night the event was outside and then we moved into the hall as the evening progressed. I really loved how all the Louisville girls were really welcoming and helped us parents find our way,” said Dina McBride.
After dinner and the auction, everyone could pick up their bid and head home. The night was a success and everyone enjoyed themselves jamming out to 80s music!
