Olivia Solorzano '26

Editor-in-Chief

Hey! I’m Olivia and I’m the Editor-in-Chief of the Royal Newspaper. This is my second year in Journalism, and I’m so excited and feel so grateful to hold this role as I’ve always admired the past editor-in-chiefs. I absolutely love all things music, especially Taylor Swift, so look out for lots of music centered articles! I love books (#1 Gatsby fan) and writing, and my favorite movie in the whole world is “Dead Poets Society,” which probably isn’t a shocker for the Editor-in-Chief of a newspaper. I’m an iced coffee connoisseur and my favorite hobby is driving around trying new coffee places with my best friend. I love getting to share fun and unique stories with the Louisville community, and it makes my day whenever I see students and teachers around campus get excited about the newspaper. I look forward to the many exciting articles our staff will create, and I hope you love The Royal as much as I do!

Elle Blount '27

Design Editor

Hi! My name is Elle Blount and I’m a junior. This is my first year on the Royal staff and I’m so excited to work on design! In my free time I like to pursue my love of musical theater, watch my comfort movies and fuel my obsession with history. Some of my favorite music artists are Pheobe Bridgers, Aleg G, The Cure and Kevin Atwater. I have always really liked design from the time I first downloaded (and became obsessed with) the Sims 4 in fifth grade. I love this team and I hope to help us keep good issues coming this semester!

Kelly Capo '27

Design Editor

Hi! My name is Kelly Capo and I am a junior here at Louisville! This is my first semester taking journalism, and I am so excited to be a part of the Royal Staff as a Design Editor. I love expressing my creativity in writing articles as I hope to go into journalism and be a sports journalist/broadcaster one day. Outside of journalism I play both school and club volleyball. Some of my favorite things are sushi, finding cute cafes to grab a latte or matcha, shopping, Jellycats, and listening to music. I love hanging out with my friends, baking, and taking photos of every sunset I come across. I can’t wait to write and design for the newspaper this year; I hope you all enjoy our issues!!

Copy Editor

Hello! My name is Marlo Butler and I am a sophomore as well as a Copy Editor on the Royal Newspaper. I joined journalism because I love yapping and found I’m best at getting what I want to say out in writing. Events, trends, and people are most definitely my favorite topics to see in articles. Some fun facts about me: I’ve been addicted to matcha since 2021, I love Blood Orange and Frank Ocean, and know a lot of brainrot. My favorite pastimes are reading and singing. I’m so excited to be writing for the Royal!

Bridget Woelflein '28

Copy Editor

Hey everyone! My name is Bridget and I am a sophomore. This is my first semester of journalism class and I’m so excited to be a Copy Editor. A little something about me is that my favorite books to read are dystopian novels because I just love reading about twisted futuristic worlds. I especially enjoyed reading Legend by Marie Lu, Parable of the Sower and The Handmaid’s Tale, to name a few. I’m also a huge F1 and NFL fan, so my Sundays are always busy in some capacity. I love watching these sports plus movies and tv shows too. I find the most content I love on Netflix and HBO Max. I’m eager to continue writing articles for the Royal!

This is my seventh year teaching at Louisville and my seventh year as the staff moderator on this paper. I am honored to lead such a remarkable bunch of young women as they create interesting content and report the news of our campus.
