On Friday, February 26, the junior class council hosted a Murder Mystery Night via Zoom by Keith & Margo’s Murder Mystery Company. The night was filled with many laughs shared with our peers. Being able to see friends and openly communicate with them felt a little bit more normal than just sitting in a virtual class like always.

A few days before the night, guests received an email with a link to their character description. We were tasked with getting familiar with the character so we could answer questions throughout the night. The link also included special passwords so you could unlock more information within the website.

The night first started with everyone on Zoom welcomed by Mrs. Yerena, Mrs. Thinnes and Mr. Wilson. There was food delivered that came along with the ticket, from The Stand; which was super yummy. The meal included pasta, a salad and a chocolate chip cookie..

When you click on your link, you are brought to a room with all your friends. The event Jade, popped up and explained all of the rules to the game. She gave passwords to continue your character description and on the description, it had things to say while being questioned. Every couple of passwords, there would be a video to watch furthering the storyline. You were put in breakout rooms to interrogate your friends and at the end of the night, everyone had to guess who the murderer was.

I loved seeing my friends and seeing everyone and their acting. Being assigned a character, we had to “act the part.” Some people in my group went all out portraying their roles well but I had a hard time doing so. There were 4 different groups throughout the whole school of around 48 attendees.

“It was super fun! I loved seeing everyone and being a part of this amazing experience,” said Ava Browne ‘22 and Cassidy Serino ‘22 echoed these remarks, adding that she enjoyed “everyone’s acting” as well.

“The night was so fun! I loved questioning everyone and trying to find the killer. I was not expecting the killer at all!” said Katherine Csiszar ‘22.

The night was a blast overall, and everyone I interviewed enjoyed it across all grade levels. A memorable night spent at home via Zoom!
