Morp was a fun night of crazy outfits, LED lights, loud music, games and friends. On April 30, 2022, the long awaited Morp dance took place at Louisville High School. With the help of ASB, who hosted the dance, students were invited to take a break from studying and have some fun with fellow classmates and friends. Several different schools all over the valley were invited to the dance which added to the fun!

Morp is prom spelled backwards, and is an opportunity to do the complete opposite of Prom. When you would normally wear a long, pretty dress or a nice suit for prom, at Morp you are encouraged to wear your wackiest outfits with crazy hairstyles and makeup.

The theme of the Morp dance this year was the 2000s. A lot of the students decided to wear their low rise jeans, Juicy Couture tracksuits, cargo shorts and small clutch purses. Most students would agree that Haley Koffman ’24 showed up in the perfect 2000s outfit. She wore low rise pink pants, a white tank top, a colorful choker necklace, and a pink scarf. She also had two space buns in her hair and light makeup which perfectly encapsulated the theme.

“It was exciting to finally have Morp back in person and going as a senior was a lot of fun,” said GG Kloch ’22.

Everyone showed up to the dance at 7:00 p.m. at St. Louis Hall where the exciting night had just begun. When students walked into the hall, they were greeted by the lively music that the DJ was playing. He played a wide range of songs that everyone enjoyed, as well as a playlist created by the Louisville student body. Overall, with the varying genres of music everyone got a kick out of it

“I really liked the theme and I liked the music associated with the theme. I also liked how the music reminded me of previous middle school dances,” said Jules Henderson ’22

Many students showed off their cool dance moves with their friends and a couple students decided to spotlight their moves in a dance circle!

“I got to talk with people and hang out, I also brought someone who doesn’t go to the school so it was fun showing them around and just catching up,” said Bunny Lazear ’22.

If the students wanted to take a break from dancing, they could head outside and relax for a while. The senior lawn was decked out with activities like arcade games, a ping pong table, a photo backdrop area, and lunch tables to sit and talk with friends. ASB served a selection of food such as pizza, ice cream, popsicles, and soda.

Many seniors concluded that Morp was bittersweet as they enjoyed their last casual dance together in high school. The dance was a big hit and many expressed that they cannot wait until next year’s Morp!
