Welcome to a psychological lesson on colors. Colors have a giant impact on how you go about your day. Moods can rise or fall based on what shade of green you see. Whether it is the color of your wall, your shirt, or a random car you see pass by, the color it wears has a psychological impact on mood and personality. Below are the different colors and their meanings, so feel free to self-diagnose with all this new information! Disclaimer: there is no possible way I could be a licensed psychologist, considering I am still a minor, so try not to blame me if these colors do not immediately do what they are said to. So with that, let’s go explore the rainbow with some help from the queen of England.

Red

Red is one of the most powerful colors in the batch. This color signifies strength, power, and courage. Red usually has an aggressive or intense connotation attached, linking to the deepest emotions such as love or anger.

If you want to use red to your advantage, wear it when you are nervous or feel shy. Wearing this color, in particular, can give you an energy boost or a psychological smack, but in the best way possible. When others see red, like on you or a car, for instance, they tend to pay more attention to the color.

So if you ever feel nervous about going to a party or competing at a ping pong tournament, a nice red accent is sure to pump up that confidence.

Orange

Orange is a color also linked with courage, along with femininity, rejuvenation, and optimism. Just because orange is a bit more feminine does not mean it is reserved for only the ladies.

Orange is a confidence boost and a more gentle version of what red can do. Orange is also a great helper when it comes to creativity. Have a case of writer's block? Put on something orange or even eat an orange. The color stimulates that creativity and intensifies it.

Additionally, it is linked to many fall holidays, so if you want to feel festive during the odd month of September, throw on some orange!

Yellow

The happiest color award would have to be given to our dear friend yellow. Yellow is oddly enough linked with the logical side of the brain. It is usually worn to not only make people feel happy but also to make them look and feel smarter!

While yellow is the happiest color, it has some negative side effects as well. Too much of this color can cause anxiety or stress, and even agitation. Avoid wearing yellow if you are already experiencing those side effects, but definitely throw some on if you are in an excited and bubbly mood.

Yellow has a small innocence effect as well. Wearing yellow could let others perceive you as more innocent and pure, so wear this one around the grandparents.

Green

Green happens to be a very common color with a wonderful meaning behind it. Green signifies balance, strength, safety, growth, rebirth, healing, and harmony. Now, as you swallow all of those, remember to wear your colors with portion control in mind. Too much green could lead to greed and jealousy.

Green is a color especially connected to healing and regrowth. Going outside to look at some green trees or green grass can automatically reduce illness. On the verge of making a difficult decision, stare at some green. It enhances your ability to balance out your emotions, pros and cons, and what is right from wrong.

Blue

Another very popular color would have to be blue. It is red’s complete opposite, more calming than it is intense. Blue can give peace, loyalty, soothing, trust, and serenity.

Blue is used especially by companies, or schools, that want to put out an image of trust. It seems that Louisville knows what they are doing here. Blue draws in the customer and calms them down. Take airplanes, for example, there tends to be an accent of blue in the logo or on a pilot’s uniform to show the travelers that they can put their trust in them.

Wearing blue to a social gathering or a job interview could have this effect as well. If stress or anxiety gets the better of you, throw on some blue to calm those nerves and take a nap!

Purple

An extensively complicated color would probably have to be purple. Purple is linked with imagination, spirituality, compassion, and sometimes even royalty.

Purple-liking people are the best kind of people, reflecting sensitivity and support. Wear those purple pants if you desire to be looked up to and inspirational. Wearing purple can initiate deeper connections to friends or family members.

People tend to pay more attention to purple, so if you want that excellent publicity, throw on some grape!
