Homecoming the most talked about event of our first semester outside of Spirit Week. With everyone rushing to get their last-minute dresses at Windsor, Hoco season is in full swing.

This year’s Crespi Homecoming was on September 25, and as usual, held on the Crespi campus and the theme was Roaring 20’s. Both Celts, Royals and other invitees were decked out in their fanciest attire and ready to show off their best outfits and dance moves.

The doors opened at 8 p.m. to everyone who was lined up outside with their dates and friends. At the front of the door, teachers and chaperones checked the students in and welcomed them into the bustling commotion.

“It was really great seeing everyone in an out of the school environment and I really enjoyed being in a social setting with my school friends!” said Emily Bezinover '22

Once inside, students were greeted with an array of snacks and drinks such as water, lemonade, cookies and different pastries, as well as a photo booth and a professional photographer inside one of the Crespi building.

“The best part for me was getting ready with my friends and taking pictures. I loved seeing all my friends at Homecoming and spending time with them.” said Phoebe LaFrance '23.

Past the lunch tables and snacks lay the spectacularly decorated floor tent. At the front, there was a light up stage that students danced on, as well as the DJ playing everyone’s favorite tunes like “Party in the U.S.A.” by Miley Cyrus and “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” by Usher.

Around the dance floor, there were well decorated tables set up for students to relax and chat at. The tent was beautifully set up with different colored lights, balloons, banners and a variety of confetti, cutouts and wall decor.

“I really liked the music and the cool decor; the only thing is my feet started to hurt so I took my shoes off and danced without them” said Sofia Gillen '23.

The actual dance floor was filled with students ranging from freshman to seniors, chatting away with their friends and dates, as well as vibing to the music, dancing and jumping up and down.

Willow Notary '23 shared her overall experience: “I really enjoyed all the hype songs and my date and I danced together with our friends!”

Towards the end of the dance, the Homecoming Court was announced once again and our very own senior princesses Shea Brannon, Talia Marchewka, Ellie Gordon, Elle Negri, and queen Katie Lovich walked to the front for a special shout out.

“It was a privilege to be able to share the court with my best friends and spend our last homecoming together,” Talia Marchewka, '22 said, “I'm grateful for the opportunity to be connected to my friends from Crespi and Louisville.”

Congrats ladies you all looked stunning. Also, a very special congratulations to Katie Lovich for being crowned Homecoming Queen.

Overall, Crespi Homecoming was an extremely successful event with a great turnout. Lots of students remarked how they enjoyed the great music, snacks and atmosphere. It was definitely a night to remember.

Excitement filled the fresh spirited air on the evening of Friday, September 24 as the Crespi Celts prepared to play their annual Homecoming game against the St. Bonaventure Seraphs.

Although most of the crowd was there to support their football team, the main event of the night was during halftime when Homecoming Court was presented. The crowd was shredding their vocal cords with their cheering, as the court was brought onto the field riding on the back of John Deere Gators. The crowned king and queen of the 2021 Homecoming were Seniors Katie Lovich ‘22 and Hudson Chasko ‘22.

“I felt really loved by my classmates. I also just want to say congrats to everyone else that was on court even though I'm not really close friends with them. They were super nice and they really helped me feel comfortable, ” said Lovich.

Louisville sophomore Julia Glukovsky '24 was in attendance and shared her experience of the evening.

“The Homecoming game is the first big event of the school year, especially coming out of quarantine and having no social events last year. I’m looking forward to having a social year!” said Julia Glukovsky 24’.

The Celts were unfortunately defeated by the Seraphs with an ending score of 65-13. Overall, even after the crowd's vocal cords were destroyed, and the Celts lost, it was a wonderful experience for all of the students.
