Getting to know the Crespi cheer team!

What would Crespi sports games look like without the cheerleaders enthusiastically cheering them on? Unengaging in my opinion, as I am sure many of you would agree. The cheerleaders bring a sense of unity and spirit to the games and the student section that everyone appreciates and loves.
“My favorite thing about cheer is the excitement I get whenever I am cheering during a game, especially football games,” says Itzel Quinones ‘22
With basketball season rapidly approaching, you can look forward to seeing the cheerleaders on the court cheering on their Crespi basketball team. Sadly, football season has ended and we will all miss going to those games, anxiously watching the football team play, and listening to the chants of Crespi cheerleaders. If you missed these remarkable games, do not panic; you can still experience the same rush of spirit from our Louisville student cheerleaders on the basketball courts at Crespi.
In order to perform during the Crespi games, they practice every week at Crespi or at Our Lady of Grace. Mrs. Baker, their coach, is also a part of the staff at Our Lady of the Grace.
Despite COVID-19, the cheer team still remains united and strong and manages to help each other out during practice and during the games.
Especially now that the cheer team is just one team, their unity and bond is stronger and more obvious than ever
“Our bond has gotten stronger since the team this year is only made up of one team, rather than two different teams of upperclassmen and lowerclassmen.” Itzel Quinones ‘22
Thank you so much Itzel for that insight on the cheer team. And with that being said, the cheer team is a vital part of the spirit at Louisville and Crespi, and we look forward to seeing them cheer during the basketball games this season.
