On Friday, September 26, the senior lawn was transformed into an outdoor movie theater! The lawn was covered with blankets and sleeping bags in front of a large projector, so there was no bad spot in the house. With snacks sold from Mr. Batch’s room and friends curling up in sweatshirts, Crespi and Louisville students all came together to unwind and enjoy a relaxing end to the week.

In addition to the movie, ASB sold fun snacks such as pizza, chips, candy and drinks in Mr. Batch’s room, meant to fundraise for future schoolwide events and student activities. However, there was no cost to attend!
Before the movie began, students from both Crespi and Louisville were socializing around the lawn and buzzing with excitement. There were lots of excited screams and impressions of the movie’s iconic lines.
“We are so pumped! We love it! The food is really good!” said Olivia Lozano ’29 when asked about her feelings on the night before the movie aired.
The film of the night was “Legally Blonde”, which was chosen by the Louisville community through a poll posted on the ASB Instagram page earlier in the month. Students had the choice to pick from three different movies, and “Legally Blonde” won by a landslide.
“The food options are really great and it’s great outside, the lighting is nice,” said Kaylin Conley ’29.
The movie began at 7:00 p.m., just as the sun was setting, which created the perfect relaxing atmosphere to begin the film.
Although it was a movie night, not everyone paid close attention to the movie. Many freshmen were roaming around and socializing with other groups of Louisville and Crespi students on different picnic blankets. There was lots of chatter and walking about the lawn, which is a good indication that Celts and Royals alike were having fun with their friends they made at other popular Louisville and Crespi events, like Frosh Box.
A huge thank you to all the faculty and staff who volunteered to give up their Friday night with their families and chaperone this event. Thank you to the Louisville Dads Club for making sure the event was safe and as organized as possible, as always. And finally, thank you to ASB for planning the whole event! We look forward to more fun and inclusive upcoming events as the year progresses.
