As the seniors' time at Louisville comes to an end, we reflect on our growth and experiences throughout the past four years. From AP classes to friendships, college applications to pep rallies and homecoming dances, our experiences at Louisville have shaped us into women ready to take on the world.
Freshmen, sophomores and juniors asked questions about their concerns in the years ahead, and as a parting gift, seniors shared their wise words in response.
Q: How do you deal with rejection?
A: It’s 100% not personal. You will inevitably face rejection and focus on the fact that there is a place for you somewhere. When one door closes, another one will open. Try and present your authentic self and trust that they will see you for who you are. You will get into the school you are meant to get into. - Sophia Byl ’26
Q: What are some good angles to approach college supplemental essays with?
A: Don't try to think about what the college wants to hear! But instead, present yourself with 100% authenticity and speak your truth! Your answers should be about you and your passions. Like, I wrote about my favorite books that made an impact on me for my essays. Just be you! - Emma Farkas ’26
Q: What are some things that you think every Louisville girl should experience or do at least once?
A: Do something that involves the arts because Louisville offers so many ways to express themselves freely and so many opportunities to grow as a person through artistic outlets. - Joe Vappie ’26
Q: What are some study habits for someone who never learned to study?
A: Writing is the key because it really helps you remember it. I just retake my notes over and over. - Sophy Awad ’26
Buy a whiteboard, it helps so much! You can write facts over and over again to memorize, and you save paper. - Mia Duarte ’26
Sometimes I like to talk to myself in my room, especially for my government class. I just say it like I’m memorizing lines. Use active recall! You can also record yourself like a podcast and listen to it over and over. - Kate Ben ’26
Q: How do you stop comparing yourself to everyone else?
A: Honestly, I used to do that a lot but now I don’t. Even though it’s incredibly challenging, just remember everyone has their own problems and instead of comparing yourself, think about how you can uplift each other and become the young women we are meant to be, supporting each other! - Sophia Barsha ’26
Q: What should I do the summer before my senior year?
A: Think about the college process and where you might want to go! Do a college course at a college and get your stuff done early so you don’t stress about it later. Do your UC PIQs (UC application supplemental questions). Don’t procrastinate them, they take longer thank you think! - Isla Morgado ’26
Q: Do you mostly have your life figured out by the time you are a senior?
A: Absolutely not! You’re not meant to figure your life out by 18. - Robin Elfeson-Diamond ’26
Q: What do you wish you knew earlier about the college application process?
A: A lot of colleges really look for something specific. For example, the UCs really focus on leadership. Research what they’re looking for in applications. - Camille Adibi ’26
