In light of Louisville’s double win of the CIF SS soccer and basketball Championships this year, there has been an immense amount of light shed on Louisville athletics and the players who have committed to college teams.
Our Louisville athletes have put in tremendous amounts of hard work and dedication throughout their lives in order to get to where they are now in their sports. Numerous members of our senior class have pledged themselves to continuing their sports journeys during their college education shortly after their upcoming graduation.
Julia Glukhovsky ’24 has committed to Saint Francis University with a scholarship for water polo. Water polo is a highly competitive sport, which, as many others, consists of players attempting to throw a ball into another team's goal.
Emily Brown ’24 is committed to University of Nebraska Kearney for her role in soccer as a goalie.
“I am very excited and very grateful for the opportunity I have been given,” Brown says.
Brown has been goalie for Louisville’s soccer team since her freshman year and has played soccer since she was 5 years old.
“I started out as a striker and then tried being goalie. From then I just fell in love with that position and kept it ever since.” says Brown.
Committing yourself to a school for sports takes hard work and perseverance throughout the process. When adding scholarships to your commitment, it deserves even more celebration.
Bella Wellbaum ’24, who committed to Cal Baptist University for her role on Louisville’s softball team, shared that she will forever be grateful to her father who spent numerous hours coaching her into the player she is today.

“He also has given me unconditional support for me to be able to follow my dreams,” Wellbaum states.
Taylor Westbrook ’24 has officially dedicated herself to Menlo College with a scholarship for her skills as a player on our CIF Champion basketball team.
Abby Leight ’24 committed to Cal Poly SLO for diving.
“I would like to thank my mom and all of my coaches for making this all possible for me,” says Leight.
Ms. Ariana Martinez, head soccer coach and assistant athletic director states, “On behalf of all of the athletic department, we are very excited and proud of them and are looking forward to following all of their journey’s in their sports beyond Louisville.”
It is evident that these inspiring young women have been working extremely hard throughout their lives to reach their goals for their futures in not only their education, but in their sports as well. Meanwhile, the rest of Louisville will continue to wish them a lifetime of success in their future endeavors.
