Meet our newest faculty and staff!

Ruby Sarrow '25

Assistant Podcast Coordinator

Welcome back, Royals! With a new school year comes new teachers and staff to welcome to our Louisville community. Here’s a little about them:

Samantha Amir

Ms. Amir is our new AP Environmental and Anatomy CP/AP teacher.


Where did you grow up?

Born in Iran, Ms. Amir grew up closely with her grandmother, who was her biggest inspiration, until moving to the U.S. with her parents at the age of 15. 

Who are important people or pets in your life?

Ms. Amir is very close to her family, and tries to visit her grandmother in Iran yearly. Ms. Amir and her sister also share a chihuahua mix, Lola.


What is your go-to cafeteria meal, or, what type of food do you like?

Although yet to try the cafeteria food, Ms. Amir is an avid fan of Trader Joes and Persian food. She recommends Shamshiri Grill in Westwood for excellent basmati rice and kebabs. 


Why did you choose Louisville?

Ms. Amir chose Louisville for our welcoming community and practice of ethical values through our Catholic identity.

Yuling Hsu

Ms. Hsu is our new Biology teacher. 


Where did you grow up?

Born and raised in Taiwan, Ms. Hsu spent her childhood outdoors, playing in a nearby stream, and catching shrimp and crawfish.


Who are important people or pets in your life?

Ms. Hsu and her husband have a husky and shiba inu mix named Q – named after the extraterrestrial character from Star Trek!

What is your go-to cafeteria meal, or, what type of food do you like?

Other than trying the cafeteria’s Asian salad, Mrs. Hsu enjoys home cooking, especially her homemade dumplings.


Why did you choose Louisville?

In her own experience at an all-girls school, Mrs. Hsu was one out of 20 girls in a class of 200 studying to enter the science field - she hopes to provide an opportunity for other young women to pursue their passions in science.

Cody Law

Mr. Law is our new Geometry and Probability and Statistics teacher.


Where did you grow up?

Although born in Hong Kong, Mr. Law considers himself  “an east-coast kid” as he grew up in Boston. He has always loved math, and he also grew up playing chess (Mr. Law is the new moderator of our very own chess club). 

Who are important people or pets in your life?

Mr. Law has a Jack Russell and chihuahua mix named Ruby.


What is your go-to cafeteria meal, or, what type of food do you like?

Although not up-to-par with our school lunches, he is a big fan of Cajun food!


Why did you choose Louisville?

Aside from being familiar with alumni from Louisville, he has tutored a student and built bridges to the school before working here. 

Emily Mercer

Ms. Mercer is our new Government, Modern World, and World History/Geography teacher. 


Who are important people or pets in your life?

Ms. Mercer is an only child, and very close to her parents. Her dog, a miniature schnauzer, is named Liberty, or Libbie for short.


Where did you grow up?

Ms. Mercer was originally born in Guam, but moved at a young age to Woodland Hills.

What is your go-to cafeteria meal, or, what type of food do you like?

Ms. Mercer takes her lunch at school seriously, and her favorite lunch is a classic Louisville staple: Chicken caesar salad, curly fries and a pink lemonade to wash it down.


Why did you choose Louisville?

Ms. Mercer is passionate about our mission of helping girls become “Women Who Shape the World.”

Krista Sweet

Ms. Sweet is our new freshman and sophomore counselor.


Where did you grow up?

Ms. Sweet grew up and graduated here in the valley, as an alum! At Louisville, she competed on our tennis and cheer teams. 


Who are important people or pets in your life?

Ms. Sweet has multiple siblings that she is separated from by around 20 years; she is very close to her youngest brother.

What is your go-to cafeteria meal, or, what type of food do you like?

Ms. Sweet loves Mediterranean and Mexican cuisines. 


Why did you choose Louisville?

She has a near and dear relationship to Louisville as an alum, and wanted to work in our community, where she can both grow and help others in their own lives.

Mary Tsotsis

Ms. Tsotsis is our new Chemistry teacher.


Where did you grow up?

Ms. Tsotsis was born in Athens, Greece. She grew up performing Greek dances, and still visits yearly.


Who are important people or pets in your life?

She has a pet cockatoo named Charlie!

What is your go-to cafeteria meal, or, what type of food do you like?

If she has time, she cooks at home. She’s not picky with food.


Why did you choose Louisville?

She enjoys the culture of the school, and the way students and staff interact.
