On Sunday March 16, the annual Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show was held, sporting the theme “passport to adventure.” This theme was hand selected and fit perfectly with the ASB theme of the year “enjoy the journey.” This senior centered event was a moment to view the time we have spent together within these past years.
As Mrs. Dingman said, a passport is an identification that allows you to explore and discover the world but still have the support and backbone of your home country. This is what college is going to be like for many of us who are going to venture off but always know we have the community we have built here.
The vendors were selling an array of merchandise from baked goods to vintage jewelry, helping to support our community by giving 20% of their profit back to school. These were small and independent businesses of alumnae, parents, and even just local companies who all help to support our school. They all are a part of our vibrant and beautiful Louisville community.
Every grade level had their own auction table with a corresponding theme and mixture of goody baskets for the silent auction. The profits from these bids went to the class budget of each corresponding table helping fund class events like Prom.
The fashion show began with Lily Rigney ‘25 MCing and introduced the well known event. With her mother, she started announcing the auction winners, which included parents, sisters, and students.
The fashion show involved many seniors, some even hitting the runway with their boyfriends, dads, or other important men in their lives. These girls showcased what true elegance means, with their inspiring confidence and impressive model walks. As we grow up these moments become just that much more special. For these girls, this is one of their last Louisville events with the people they love, like their fathers.
The fashion show has always had girls showing off their signature moves like a swim stroke, a dunk, or even a cheer move at the end of the runway; able to show what it is like to be a confident Louisville girl. As a fellow senior I find these moments just that much more special especially knowing that Louisville will be a part of my past soon.
This annual tradition is not just a lunch and a show, but a true display of the power of Louisville sisterhood and the supportive community that we are all surrounded and supported by.
