The Louisville swim team is diving into this new season with waves of passion and grit while training at the pool on Crespi’s campus. The swim team practices everyday, rain or shine, working on perfecting their strokes and becoming faster swimmers.
The team, as a whole, is very competitive and spirited. Oftentimes at the end of practices, the team will compete against each other in relays featuring all types of strokes. This allows for the swimmers to have fun while getting a glimpse into the competitiveness that they will experience in an actual meet. The Royals yell their cheer at the end of every practice into the pool gutter to have their Louisville spirit heard throughout the whole pool. During practice, the Louisville swimmers cheer each other on and have fun while putting dedication into their work.
Led by Coach Aaron Robinson, who has been coaching since he was in high school and has been Louisville’s coach for more than twenty years. He stated in an interview that he is very passionate about the sport, as it has been a part of his life since he was little. He believes in making all athletes the best they can be, and they must have dedication and time management.

Coach Robinson teaches the team these elements in their weekly practices. Each practice consists of a warm up, a set, a main set and then relays/diving and a cooldown. Every workout is very challenging but the royals take on the challenge and push themselves, becoming a better swimmer within every stroke. Many of the swimmers' goals including Sienna Sorientio ’26 and Maryan Macaraeg ’28 both stated in an interview that they hope to PR or beat their personal record in all their strokes this season.
The swim team’s first meet was on February 25 against Birmingham High School. This meet was a mock meet, so it did not hurt or help the team’s overall place in the league. Yet the meet is still very important, because it helped the overall team be ready for their first meet in February. It was a chance for the swimmers, especially the new swimmers, to experience a high school meet. The team has been training for their meets since fall and are very excited for the new season.
The team’s first league meet was on February 27 against Marlborough High School. This was a home meet, so it was at Crespi High School. The swim team played a tough but phenomenal performance. The Varsity team sadly lost the meet but most swimmers had gotten new PRs and swam their best in their events.
The 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Freestyle Relay both achieved their consideration cuts for CIF Division 2. Varsity put their whole effort into this meet and may not have won, but accomplished many long-term goals. The JV team won this meet with a final score of 51-50. The team as a whole, is very strong and is ready to dominate the 2025 season. The swim team is building the lane line to success.
You could say this swim season will be swim-ply the best!!
