Our parent-student dance recap

Our parent-student dance recap

Let’s just say this night was nothing short of spook-tacular. From Wednesday and Gomez

Addams and Gru and his minion, to a cookie and carton of milk, we had quite the lineup of

dynamic duos.

Of course, the night started with a serve-yourself dinner to prepare our students and parents for extensive dancing later in the evening. Louisville provided a mouthwatering selection of pastas—pesto and bolognese—along with garlic breadsticks, salad and a chip and dip station! And because most of us have a sweet-tooth, a candy table was prepared to satisfy.

The event then proceeded with a round of Halloween trivia, because who doesn’t want to know how many millions of pounds of candy Americans buy for Halloween each year (600 million, to be exact). Led by our humorous ASB Transfer Representative Amanda Baucher ’25, the audience had a fabulous time competing in a riveting Kahoot.

Following trivia, students and parents were encouraged to play various games set up in Saint

Louis Hall. Many laughs and cries could be heard as attendees competed in bean bag tossing,

target throwing and a huge connect 4 set. Whether or not they returned in victory is another

question...

As the first round of trivia potentially left some groups feeling unsatisfied in their placing, a

second round was implemented before the dance floor was officially opened. Afterwards, the

lights were dimmed, and Thriller by Michael Jackson started off the dance playlist. You can

always count on ASB Social Chair, Ailee Nishi ’25, to keep great music playing all night.

To finish off the end of an amazing evening, a Best Costume award was announced to the crowd.

The nomination was based on votes that attendees previously wrote down. The lucky winner was

Ella Sutherland, our very own ASB Treasurer, and her dad! They swept the competition in

twinning outfits from the classic movie,  The Shining.

Louisville loves its students, so a big thank you to everyone who brought a parent and made this

night a special one. Everyone can appreciate a bonding moment with family, and there is no

harm in the addition of fun costumes and games. A special thanks to Mr. Wilson for setting up

the event. He made sure the execution was perfect for everyone who came.
