As the season comes to a close, our Royal golf team has made its mark on Louisville sports. With a lineup of seniors and freshman, coached by Courtney Ploadpliew, our Royals have thrived as a team and as individual players.
The team- consisting of Sara Firestone '28, Skylar Greene '25, Cecelia Lynch '26, Luella MacVie '26, Audrey Miller '26, Abboy Molloy '27, Grace Nelson '27, Caden Pono '26, Brooke Pugliese '28 and Sohana Swani '26- excelled throughout the season. Winning four out of seven league matches and three non league matches, the team has taken home a majority of victories in their league and earned a CIF patch.
“I love coaching and showing the girls lessons not just on the course but also off the course. My whole team has put in a lot of work this season. Grace Nelson ’27 has really stepped up not just as a player but also as a leader,” stated coach Courtney Ploadpliew about her team.
With the support of their coaches and hard work, both Skylar Greene ’25 and Grace Nelson ’27 qualified for prelims and individual finals this year. Starting golf at a young age, both players have continued with the sport thanks to the assistance from coaches and family members.
“I was also looking forward to [the] end-of-year tournament with eighteen holes. That was my goal this year - to get through that. At the end of that tournament, we get a CIF patch for our letterman jacket! But my favorite match was when I shot my lowest score of the season:41!” expressed Grace Nelson ’27.

The team has truly shown that hard work and dedication to a sport pays off. With the Senior Night match against Sierra Canyon, the team worked toward their personal bests and as always, completing rounds with the least amount of shots possible.
Skylar Greene ’25 shared how her team rallied around her, and with that support, she was able to achieve an amazing score with a very minimal amount of shots!
“My favorite match was probably my Senior Night match… I played pretty good for myself and it was my senior night so it was really special. With my whole team at the end all holding up posters for me, they made it such a fun night.” said Greene ’25.
The members of the golf team have come a long way on their journey as players, but their unity and sportsmanship is what make the team so amazing. So, congratulations to the team for a season very well played.
