Spirit Week 2025: We’ve got spirit how about you

Last week, one of Louisville's favorite traditions and the most universal to the high school experience occurred: Spirit week. Our second semester spirit week was full of great themes and activities. Although the pep rally was not opened up with a senior surprise dance, the energy was there all week.
Monday’s theme was a combo of pajama day and anything but a backpack day. Everyone roamed the halls as if they just got out of bed, with whatever objects they could find in tow. From luggage, to baby carriages and even pillow cases, the only limit was really what you could fit in the car.
Oh no, 50 Mr. Telescas! Wait, it was just dress like a teacher day. Students flooded the halls sporting wigs, button ups or scarves to emulate their favorite teachers. As the saying goes, imitation is the highest form of flattery, and Louisville sure does love its teachers.
Next up, the Royals had their own version of Wet Side story (aka the movie from Teen Beach Movie) with bikers versus surfers on Wednesday. The whole day some of the students were going “Surf crazy” while the rest were “Crusin’ for a Brusin’” through the halls. It was a great reference to our childhoods, especially as the sequel turns ten this year.
What felt like the most fun of the week was our spirit day on Thursday, with the seniors last pep rally at Louisville, we surely made it count. From the face paint and tutus worn by all, to the inflatable obstacle course and slide, the day felt like kindergarten all over again.
This year we closed Spirit week out with our Multiverse day. The superheroes seen around campus ranged from Powerpuff girls and Batman, to Smurfs and SpongeBob. The slide made another surprise appearance, so students were able to fly like their favorite superheroes.
As the final spirit week of the year, and the last spirit week of high school for the seniors, there were no spirit points awarded but there was a clear winner. The junior class was the most spirited this year, so be sure to watch out for their senior lawn take over for the first day of school next year. The yellow giraffes may not have come out on top, but we already have a spirit week title to our names. Spirit week 2025 has come to an end but keep up the spirit as we close out the year.
