Louisville at Sea

On April 11, Louisville students set sail with Crespi for prom 2025, taking a FantaSea Yacht from Marina
del Rey, which provided a unique experience on the water. With four levels to explore, unforgettable
ocean views and music echoing across the decks, the prom experience broke away from traditional norms
for something a little more adventurous.
From the beginning of the night to the last song, the third deck - the place to be - vibrated with music and
energy. A mixture of songs of throwback hits, modern pop and rap kept the crowd in high spirits. The
floor turned into a blur of dancing, laughter and camera flashes.
“The third floor was packed, everyone was dancing and singing the lyrics,” explained Lilli Farrar ’25. “I
didn’t expect it to be that fun, honestly. It felt good to just let go for a night.”
And when a throwback classic hit the speakers, the crowd lit up.
“When ‘Gangnam Style’ came on, everyone lost it,” said Lily Rodriguez ’25. “It’s one of those songs we
all grew up with, and it just brought everyone together.”
For those who needed a break, the fourth floor offered a quiet escape. With an open-air view of the marina
and soft wind cutting through the music below, it gave students a chance to cool off and take in the
scenery.
“When I first heard it was on a yacht, I didn’t know what to expect,” shared Alexa Burr ’25. “But it ended
up feeling really special. The view from the top deck was so nice and it made the whole night feel
different.”
The dinner menu featured chicken parmesan, salad, pasta and bread rolls, followed by cookies and
brownies for dessert with a display of Shirley Temples to give the drink station a nostalgic touch.
“I thought the food was good,” Burr added. “Nothing crazy, but it hit the spot. I definitely went back for
another brownie.”
As the night progressed, Louisville students danced, posed for photos, and leaned into the feeling of
celebrating senior year in such a unique setting.
“I liked seeing everyone dressed up and happy,” said Zoe Phillipson ’25. “It was one of those nights
where you could actually feel that senior year is ending.”
When the boat finally pulled back to the dock, students with tired feet and wind-tangled hair stepped off
the yacht knowing they’d just closed a chapter, with the ocean just beneath them and graduation straight
ahead.
