Our Louisville softball team is having an incredible season dominating the field!
They have been showing off their impeccable skills and sadly coming near the end of the season. This being three of their star players’ final season, they are truly leaving their all out in the box and on the bases.
Lily Rodriguez ’25 has been playing on the team since her freshman year and has continued to show her skills as a catcher and hitter. She is one of the most influential teammates through her practice, hard work, and dedication to the sport.
Rodriguez is never short of spirit and never fails to help the team feel like the united group they are. She is not ending her softball career out on their home fields but is rather going out of the park and into college at Biola University.
Star pitcher Kelsey Vitalis ’25 joined the team as a junior. She has truly made her mark from her fast and hard pitch to her home runs. She has shown the true nature of bonding and finding your community among the sisterhood through her ability to become such an important part of the team even though joining late to the game. Like Lily, Kelsey is taking on the college athlete life as a player with the Felician University golden falcons.
Gaelyn Brown ’25 started her softball journey as a kid but has followed this passion into highschool. She has shown her dedication and love for this sport since the little leagues. Unlike Kelsey and Lily, Gaelyn is ending her softball career in high school. However, that does not mean that this community she has found in this team and sport will not follow her into her future endeavors.
These girls have shown the importance of love and endurance in their sport. They have revealed that not only do they have the abilities to win and dominate other teams, but also that you can find a passion and a family within a team. These girls will be missed after they throw their helmets in, but they will not fail to continue to show their impact on the team as a whole. I can't wait to see their college games and their future endeavors as well as the team that will arise out of their powerful and impactful influences.
