Spirit week 2024: hear our roar

Spirit Week, held every fall and spring at Louisville, are some of the most exciting weeks of the year. It's a time where all grades dress up to decorate and demonstrate our Royal spirit. This year's Spirit Week, which was held from September 16 to 20, was no different–filled with new, fun themes and friendly competition, making it the highlight of the fall semester.

Monday - Adam Sandler:

Known for his casual and baggy style, students dressed up in baggy clothes or paid homage to their favorite movie character of his. Channeling Happy Gilmore or just going for that classic Sandler street style, it was a comfortable start to the week.

Tuesday - Country vs. Country Club:

Were you team country club, walking out in your preppy polos and tennis skirts, or were you team country, ready to yeehaw in your cowboy boots and flannels? Whether you went for a country club vibe or the farm life, it was definitely a sight to see all these different aesthetics clash in our hallways.

Wednesday - Inside Out:

On Wednesday it was all about emotions… AKA “Inside Out” fashion! Students had two options: dress up as their favorite characters from Disney’s “Inside Out” or take the literal route and wear their clothes inside out. It really added some lighthearted fun to the middle of the week, which I believe fueled us for more excitement for the upcoming next day.

Thursday - Class Colors:

Thursday was the day we were all waiting for - freshmen debuted as the Teal Turtles, sophomores represented as the Purple Butterflies, juniors came in strong as the Pink Jellyfish, and seniors took charge as the Yellow Giraffes.

The day began with the lawn decorating early in the morning with each class transforming their designated area into their colorful class colors. Afterwards, the pep rally kept the energy high, with each class competing in games for spirit points. Seniors performed the annual senior dance choreographed by Allison Gomez '25, and the cheers showed just how much everyone loved it!

The Juniors impressed us all and ended up winning 1st place for their lawn, and the seniors deservedly won the pep rally.

Friday Crazy Hair/Outfit:

Students went all out with wild hairstyles and outfits. From crazy hair to mismatched clothing, everyone embraced the chance to be a little silly and finish the week on a fun note.

Spirit Week really captures what makes Louisville a special place. Spirit Week 2024 was a memorable week that brought our school together and reminded us about the value of community and school pride. From dressing up for the themes to the familiar competition between grades, it was a week of laughter, teamwork and good memories that made the start of the school year extra special.
