Los Padres, their daughters and Ms. Kass
A new sensation has hit us with a powerful blow. They are modest individuals who, on their separate paths, unite in order to play some classic music. These talented men rocked the Senior Lawn on St. Patrick’s Day.
“Los Padres” is our new Louisville rock band made up of members from the Louisville Dad’s Club and some of their daughters. They played at the Dad’s Club BBQ as their big debut. I don’t know if these men were expecting to have the mass amount of impact that they did, but they quickly became a fan favorite at the St. Patrick’s Day BBQ lunch. Personally, I think that this band should start playing at all our school functions.
These men are unstoppable with their musical talent and dad jokes. They sport their own custom merchandise of band T-shirts that I would definitely purchase myself. The lead singer, Mr. Derrig-Palumbo’s flowing hair is that of a shampoo commercial. If his current employment goes south, he should start looking for gigs in the hair modeling business. These men are not a garage band, they have super star potential!
Their equipment was concert ready. Maybe this won’t be the only sight of “Los Padres”. All live music is good music but they were not just good, they were exceptional! I was moved as were many members of their roaring crowd.
The jokes they cracked between songs were just as entertaining as their show. Each carefully thought out dad joke was even accompanied by a “ba-dum-ch” by the drummer, Mr. Picco.
A few of the songs from their setlist benefited with the addition of backup singers. These young women were either the daughters of Los Padres or friends, all of whom were sporting the band’s merch. At one point, Louisvillie’s very own Ms. Kass joined, adding soulful background vocals with the others.
Los Padres should be hosting concerts and BBQs in order to fundraise for Louisville. Their newly created fandom would most definitely pay to see them perform. Their performance made my week and brought a smile to every face I saw.
